ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
India has assumed the chair of the Council of Member States of International IDEA (International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance) for 2026. The Chairship is being led by the Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner of India (CEC) and being supported by India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM). It is in this backdrop that the said International Conference is being organized to provide a platform for sharing, co-creating and collective international stewardship for democratic, electoral innovation and electoral governance.

OBJECTIVES
The overarching objective is to establish an academic and policy-oriented platform to review and critically enhance the draft thematic report.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary dialogue on regulating media campaigns in electoral contexts.
- Bring together stakeholders from academia, policymakers, media and technology sectors to share insights and best practices.
- Explore innovative approaches for strengthening electoral integrity and public trust.
